yeah but the same is especially true of consoles now, which are just dedicated computers which is why they are hackable now. The only things consoles have over computers is cost and convenience, but for game play and graphics computers will always win.

Anywhere between an estimated 600,000 and 1 million players who use Microsoft's Xbox Live gaming service will be cut off from the service because they have modified their game consoles or played games that were illegally downloaded from file-sharing sites, according to the company.
"All consumers should know that piracy is illegal and that modifying their Xbox 360 console violates the Xbox Live terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox Live," Microsoft said in a statement Wednesday.

Yea that happens all the time, all they have to do now is get a new account. Lately Microsoft has been good at getting rid of cheaters, the only thing that still slips through is moded controlers.  |

This effects XBOX360 owners mostly. I only game on a PC and I very rarely deal with hacker kids. It really depends on the game. 95% or more are problem free and every 2 years I can get a new video card that improves the image quality. Consoles are nice compaired to a baseline PC but a well designed gamer PC stomps a console when you are compairing the same game. When your XBOX or PS3 can display 5040 x 1050 resolution across 3 screens we can begin an agrument. Until then the controllers for all the consoles work for PC's and I can play 97% of the console titles at 5040 x 1050 across three screens. When you add in the TrackIR headtracking system you literally have a "poor man's VR" setup. Your FPS games are as imersive as I could imagine given current technology. RPG's are great for huge cityscapes, dungeons and forests that you get a "bay window" view of. Flight simulators are of course insane as well. Sports games are the only exeption as they currently dont play on triple screens but I dont play sports games all that often. RTS and turn based strategy games look and flow SOOOO nicely across three screens as well. So, when a console can do any three of those they will be able to really compete. They are nice for ease of use and implementation but if you are going to compair it to airsoft... consoles would be a nice stock Echo One and a gamer PC is...well whatever you make it to be just like many of our parted out masterpieces that are really not any one brand any more but can drill an enemy at 300ft.
